Key Innovations and Advanced Technology

The Happy Box Feed uses horizontal movement to keep the feed dog in contact with fabric longer than standard machines. Extended contact time helps sew thin, stretchy fabrics smoothly, preventing slipping or puckering, especially on knits and lightweight materials.

A 7-piece feed dog and adjustable foot pressure improve grip, reduce distortion, and prevent skipped stitches on varied fabrics.

The LCD touch screen gives you direct access to 478 stitch patterns without cycling through menus. You tap the screen to select stitches, adjust settings, and view clear visual guides. The colour display shows your current stitch selection and settings at a glance.

The Happy Japan EXP-9000 offers automatic thread tension, lettering with patterns, elongation, and mirroring for flexible embroidery design.

The Happy one step needle threader works with one hand action for household needles sized 11 to 16. You thread up to the guide, lower the lever, and the thread passes through the needle eye automatically. The automatic thread cutter trims both upper and bobbin threads short when you finish seaming.

Threading is quick and simple, thanks to the new numbered threading system. You can follow it from any needle position. Easy bobbin threading removes the need to pull up the bobbin thread. The automatic bobbin winder stops when the bobbin is full. 

A built-in thread sensor stops the machine if the needle thread breaks or you thread it incorrectly. The lock button adds safety when changing the needle or presser foot.

Workspace Design and Fabric Handling

The machine offers 200mm of workspace between the needle and the machine body. This wide sewing space gives you room to maneuver larger fabric pieces without bunching or difficulty.

The machine’s wide extension table expands the workspace, providing extra support for larger projects.

The accessory box sits inside the main table and stores your tools and attachments. You can remove this box quickly to access the free arm underneath.

The improved presser foot on the EXP-9000 has a wider range of movement than older models. This design helps the foot handle thick fabrics without skipping stitches. You can adjust the presser foot pressure through five different levels to match your fabric thickness.

The knee lifter lets you raise and lower the presser foot without using your hands. This feature keeps both hands free to guide fabric while you work. You attach the knee lifter to the machine and control it with a simple knee movement.

A lock presser foot button keeps the foot horizontal when you press it. This function helps you sew thick materials more easily by maintaining consistent pressure.

Removing the accessory box reveals a free arm that helps sew tubular items by rotating fabric as you stitch.

Dropping the feed dog lets you move fabric freely for free-motion quilting and decorative stitching under your control.

The machine offers 478 built-in patterns split between 64 utility stitches and over 100 decorative stitches. You control everything through an LCD color touch screen that makes selecting and adjusting patterns straightforward.

Elongator adjusts pattern length without changing stitch density, and mirror image flips patterns horizontally for more layout options.

Three alphabet sets and decorative patterns enable custom designs, while automatic thread tension adjusts per pattern without manual changes.

The EXP-9000 creates fully automatic buttonholes in one step. You place the button on the buttonhole foot, and the machine completes the entire buttonhole automatically based on the button size. This eliminates measuring and guessing.

The 100+ decorative stitches range from simple borders to complex patterns. You can use these for embellishing clothing, quilts, home décor items, and other projects. The auto tack button adds reinforcement stitches at the beginning and end without causing fabric puckering.

The wide 200 mm sewing space gives you room to position larger items when adding decorative elements. LED lighting around the needle area helps you see details clearly when working with intricate stitch patterns.

The embroidery unit is available as an optional add-on to the EXP-9000. This expands your capabilities beyond standard stitching into computerised embroidery work.
